The job of the fire panel is to monitor for fire conditions, raise an alarm when one occurs and provide an indication of the location of the fire.
So why do we not put it in a cupboard in the back office as it is not the nicest looking piece of equipment you have seen, if an alarm is initiated someone will know where to look to silence the noise. This is the attitude of numerous end users as they did not want the thing installed in the first place.

It has been known for many years that batteries installed into fire panels shall have a label attached to indicate the installation date.
This is because batteries should have a working life of approximately 4 years according to national standards and the labels give warning to technicians that battery replacement is imminent.

NON COMPLIANT
The FSIB will no longer mark the locally manufactured TECHNOSWITCH panel range as compliant on any report.
The failure of the panel to provide an alarm when the batteries are disconnected and / or removed, we believe, is unacceptable.
